Global Sports & Events Names Sara Mosiman as Partner

SEATTLE, JANUARY 10, 2023 Global Sports & Events (GSE), a Seattle-based sports management firm, today announced the appointment of Sara Mosiman as Partner. Mosiman will oversee the strategy and business development for GSE, including expanding to new markets and broadening its scope and vision. Her passion for closing diversity gaps, impacting athletes, and the benefits of sports aligns with the shifting landscape in amateur athletics.

“Sports are at an inflection point, collegiate athletics in particular,” said Mosiman. “With the importance of mental health and wellness, evolution of NIL, overdue growth of Women’s sports, changing media rights, decentralization and more – there is no better time to focus on the athletes. At GSE, we won’t change the landscape, but we can provide more opportunities and experiences for the athletes and organizations that lift them up so that sports remain a positive force.”

Prior to joining GSE, Mosiman ran The Sports Institute at UW Medicine, a player health and safety organization launched in partnership with the NFL. She oversaw the operations, communications and medical business units that built and deployed digital health technologies, programs and other innovations in sports safety and participation. She was additionally responsible for the Institute’s strategy, growth, fundraising and financial sustainability. Previously, she was the director of business development at Basketball Travelers, driving expansion and growth of the Women’s sports portfolio.

“I have known and worked with Sara for many years, and I look forward to her contributions across the entire spectrum of our business as we continue to grow,” said Jason Sarkies, Co-founder and Partner at GSE. “She is an outstanding strategist and her passion for athletes will certainly benefit our clients, as well as the partners we serve in sports, entertainment and hospitality.”  Added Erik Evans, GSE Co-founder and Partner, “Anyone that knows Sara agrees that her leadership, work ethic and energy is contagious, and I have no doubt that GSE and athletes everywhere will be positively affected by her vision and focus.”

With Mosiman, GSE is broadening its scope to include athlete development and NIL solutions leveraging technology and their cross-sector partners to provide those opportunities. A Seattle-native, Mosiman was a captain and four-year letterwinner at the University of Washington, where she played basketball for the Huskies. She returned to UW’s Foster School of Business for her MBA and was inducted into Delta Airlines Ones to Watch, a program honoring innovative, inspirational, and upwardly mobile leaders in key industries nationwide. She currently serves on the UW Foundation board, Positive Coaching Alliance advisory board, Seattle Sports Commission, volunteers at the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship, and coaches for the Special Olympics.
